ADS ON AIR

Ads on Air is a video podcast run Entirely by Ad students at Indiana University. We talk, we cry, we sing, we do it all because we love ads. Here’s to saying F**k the Skip ad button.

I was the podcast assistant and I created the outlines for the podcast / edited the videos. I am now a host on the podcast which keeps me constantly updated on industry trends and also keeps me updated on whatever Duolingo is up to now.

We even made it on to Ikea’s “U Up?” submission at Cannes Lions which was shown at the event. You’re kidding!?!

Fall recruitment

For this campaign we wanted to go bold. Creating conversation amongst Ad Students was what we found most important. What a better way to create conversation than with confusion. Why is the Ad club putting out such sh*tty ads?

Through the span of a week we pushed out our “bad ads” to spark confusion and conversation. We placed flyers all over campus and posted on our instagram account. We generated over 23,000 views on instagram amongst these three posts.

And then we released this…

After revealing the campaign, I coordinated a photoshoot with our executive team. This photoshoot positioned Ad Club as “The Ad Professionals”. Want to make sure your ads don’t suck as bad as the ones we posted? Join Ad Club.

This campaign not only boosted awareness of the club but also position us as a club that looks and feels fun to join.
